SUMMARY:VETTES for VETS
DESCRIPTION:The Corvette Club of the Delaware Valley will, once again,
proudly sponsor the 4th annual Vettes for Vets and Airborne Day at Ka
tie O’Donnell’s Irish Pub/Restaurant. The Corvette Club of Delawar
e Valley is the 2nd largest Corvette Club in America and was started i
n December of 1958. During those years, the club has donated over $400
,000 to both national and local charities through charitable events. T
he purpose of this event is to collect personal items such as toiletri
es, phone cards, writing materials and any other items that would help
make the lives of our troops overseas a little easier. Our service me
n and women’s money is limited and, if wounded, they are sent to hos
pitals that could be far away and th...eir personal belongings may be
left behind. Donating an item would help lift the spirits of the troop
s and let them know how much we appreciate their service to our great
country! On this date over 75 Corvettes and many muscle cars will be o
n display for everyone to see and enjoy. Military vehicles will also b
e on site with the opportunity to take pictures. Military chapters suc
h as the 101st & 82nd Airborne Divisions, Vietnam Veterans Association
, Coast Guard Reserve, the USO and more will be in attendance. You wil
l be entered to win a Katie O’Donnell’s Gift Card by donating! No
Entry Fee and Dash Plaques will be awarded. There will be an honoree.
Past honorees include William \"Wild Bill\" Guarnere, one of the World
War II veterans in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division whose expl
oits were dramatized in the TV miniseries \"Band of Brothers. David Ch

, and captain during the Vietnam War. While serving as a lieutenant in
South Vietnam, he was wounded in action seven times and awarded sever
al medals including the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary
heroism. Major General Wesley E. Craig assumed the duties as the 51st
Adjutant General of Pennsylvania and commander of the Pennsylvania Nat
