History & Connection to the Movie
The name of the festival is inspired by the classic 1973 film The Way We Were starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford. In the fall of 1972, downtown Ballston Spa—specifically around Front Street and the Medbery Inn and Spa—was transformed into a 1940s depression-era Hollywood backdrop for the movie.
