Event Description
Detroit Automobile Company formed. Three backers, Detroit Mayor William Maybury, William H. Murphy, and Senator Thomas Palmer invest $86,000 to back the inventor, Henry Ford.
10 days later ( Aug 15th ) Ford leaves his job at the Detroit Edison Company and joins DAC full time.
The company produces about 20 cars and folds in January 1901.
