Newly formed AMC contracts with Packard for their V8 to be installed in the 1955 Nash Ambassador and the Hudson Hornet, and in 1957, the hot Rambler Rebel a precursor of the muscle cars of the '60s. The Rebel was a compact with a big, 327cu in V8.
