According to Wikipedia:
The United States Rubber Company was founded in Naugatuck, Connecticut, in 1892. It was one of the original 12 stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average,[1] and became Uniroyal, Inc., in 1961. In 1990, Uniroyal was acquired by French tire maker Michelin.
I was going to share here the information about US Tire, but wow it was way too long, but interesting. I know everything on Wikipedia is not necessarily100% accurate but here is a link anyway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Rubber_Company
This paper was from a local business in our area of West Virginia. This was a letter dated July 24, 1916 sent to a local bank. (I was asked to go through all of the written letters for the first 30 years of the bank’s operation and have produced a very interesting display of the history of the bank and for our local area. The historical presentation has gotten rave reviews.) This page was full of writing, and it took hours to remove all the writing without degrading the image. I don’t want to post a high resolution image as the information is not the subject but I do think it came out well and I’m hard to please! Here is a small before and after picture.
