1908 Stanley Steam Car Model K

This is a General interest post for auto aficionados sharing a pictorial history over the decades.
I hope you enjoy the educational - historical information!......
Better known as the Stanley Semi-Racer, this vehicle is the most valuable pre-1910 Stanley. In 1906, the “Coffin” nose Stanley was introduced, and this design, seen here, was prominent through 1914.
The 1908 model is fitted with a rumble seat in the rear, affectionately referred to as the “Mother-in-law seat,” for its positioning. While the Stanley name was the most famous of its time, it was not the top selling steam car, that honor went to White, outselling Stanley’s almost two to one.
Specifications: Model K Semi-Racer. 2-cylinder, 25 horsepower steam engine. Price new: $ 1,800. Wheelbase: 108 inches.
This was seen at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Maine.
