As a little different kind of post for today, here is a historical image that featured a hand drawn map around Washington DC made by AAA.
It said the 20 mile trip out to Fairfax was a good run over very good roads. Notice it was gravel around Tyson’s Corner.
The rest of the newspaper also has interesting articles including a re-cap of the first auto race held in Chicago 1895, a description of how parking is such a problem now that there are so many autos, the need for a Stewart speedometer, etc.
