Victor
The Victor Automobile Mfg. Co.
St. Louis, MO
1907-1911
The Victor was an early High Wheel Runabout produced by The Victor Automobile Mfg. Co. in St. Louis, Missouri from 1907 to 1911. Powered by a two cycle two cylinder water cooled engine that produced 14-16 horsepower. Final drive by friction transmission and chain. Most were sold with solid rubber tires, although pneumatic tires were offered at an additional price.
Most Victor automobile advertising claimed - "Victor Hand Forged Automobiles" indicating that they were "Strongest Built". The Victor was produced as a Runabout, four passenger Touring Cars, Victor Pullmans and a Delivery Truck priced from $450.00 to $800.00. Reports have it that a total of seven different models were made by The Victor Automobile Mfg. Co. from 1907-1911.
By 1909 the Victor was still advertised as "Hand Forged and The Strongest Machine Built"! Horsepower was up to 24 with addition of a new water cooled engine. Other new features included a double chain, double wheel sprockets, double jack shaft sprockets, double expanding brakes, double ignition system and double coils.
